The insights he offers to the Gita are often literally breath-taking and his writing style is so eminently understandable as to be useful by anyone with a modest education and a sincere desire to learn.This is indeed a true spiritual classic of major proportion!

Out of all the translations of the Bhagavad Gita that I've read, Paramahansa Yogananda's is the most beautiful and comprehensible. Not to mention his insightful commentary that goes along with it. This new ebook version from SRF is so lovely - colorful and aesthetic. I've had the print version for a while now and always enjoyed it, even just reading a page or two puts my mind in an uplifted state. And so naturally I'm happy to have this on my kindle for on-the-go perusal. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in striving to live a spiritual life in the modern world.

I happen to be its translator in my language. Not at all good. It is a compilation of the two-volume one, "God Talks With Arjuna - The Baghavad Gita, again from Self-Realization Fellowship. One who really wants to understand the Gita, extremely metaphorical, should buy the two-volume one, which is more than excellent, written from Paramahansa Yogananda, "The Father of Yoga in the West". Find it here in Amazon. The full meaning is there (the two-volume), a masterpiece.

A must read for anyone that isn't interested in reading the Bhagavad Gita superficially. Yogananda sets the stage for the Gita perfectly so that the reader is (more) mentally prepared to embark on the Gita journey.

What a great book for those who love the GITA. Great text and commentary with nice photos.

A great summary of the more in-depth teachings in the two volumes of "God Talks With Arjuna". You may want to read this first then "God Talks With Arjuna" to get the most benefit from this magnificent teaching.

I'm slowing going through these CD's and they are ok. There is the required amount of repetition that you can rewind and get what they are saying in Japanese and the exercises on the CD are appropriate to get a beginner learning of the language. Not great with writing and alphabet. There is no explanation of the Japanese writing styles hiragana, katakana nor kanji nor is there any indication of the Japanese alphabet only sounds are given against the English alphabet, which is strange. The grammar and number explanation is otherwise good and explained simply so you get it. Not good with building up your vocab as the CD sticks to a few basic words e.g. karuma - is used in many examples. You do learn a few basic words, but don't practice a range of vocab. So it is good to get a beginner started and I would recommend it if you are going to travel to Japan.

Coming from the Pimsleur method of learning Japanese, this audio course felt rushed, and I felt I couldn't absorb as much information.The vocabulary words are shot at you 10-15 at a time, and there is little review before the next set of vocab, causing me to have to listen to each 1-minute-long "mile marker" over and over again.This is to Pimsleur as trying to memorize a dictionary is to learning from a textbook.It just doesn't seem prudent to listen to in the car because I find myself either listening to the 1-minute tracks on repeat until they sink in, or listen to a bunch at a time, and retaining nothing because the quizzing and recall flies by so quickly.Also, the response time is extremely short. I can barely answer the question in English in that amount of time.ALL THAT SAID, a strong vocabulary is necessary obviously, and I am eager to get to a level where this tape will be useful for me. For right now, I'm going to settle for the Pimsleur method of simple vocabulary, and focusing on grammar and sentence structure.

This tape course is great for people who really want/need in-depth Japanese lessons or review. You get a good idea of sentence structure and pronunciation. However, if you are trying to learn some basic Japanese for a short-term trip, this is not the tape for you. You need to know how to ask for basic items (food, beverages, train tickets, the bathroom). I've travelled to Japan once, and plan to go again, and I don't think I'll need to know how to say "It's a big new car" or "Let's go to a concert" to a total stranger on the street. Buy this tape if you need some support for reglar Japanese lessons, or just want to generally improve your understanding of the language for business or regular travel. Nice set-up, but not practical for day-to-day needs.

This was great for me because I got to hear how words are pronounced by a native speaker instead of trying to figure out how to pronounce them on my own. If you have long commutes it's great, or put it on your ipod to listen to throughout the day.

I ordered Drive Time because I had also previously bought this program in German for long commutes to work. I listened to the Japanese CDs during our long moves across country, to my commutes to work, and even occasionally on runs or bike rides. When we arrived in Japan I knew enough to get by and the locals were very excited and thankful that I took the time to learn their language. Everything in this program is what is taught in the first few lessons of a Japanese class, so I was ahead of the game when I decided to brush up. It wont make you fluent, but it will definitely get you where you need to go in small conversations.

I loved this new team. I loved Team A.L.P.H.A. and the Alphabits are already stealing my heart. I wondered how this would proceed with the whole meet and mate thing out of the way between Dean and Sam but they nailed it from word one with the move in from boy's eyes. I love how the team is taking up cases when they meet the neglected wolf cub from across the street. This is an awesome start to what promises to be another good series.

Once again they made it so good that you laugh,and cry.the beginning breaks your heart but finally the heart comes through ,can t wait for the next book

Book one of the Alphabits is just wonderful. It picks up where Decked left off and it was great to see the further deepening of Sam and Dean's relationship. Just a fantastic start to a new series.

I loved the whole book. From the small wolf hiding in the snow to the getting adoption papers. I loved it all. And I also loved that those from team Alpha popped in. I can’t wait for the next one!

It is a nice little story. I am not sure how I felt about getting all wrapped up into this new series. At the moment, this series is falling behind the TEAM ALPA series. I’m hopeful that the second novel kicks it up a notch!

Really loved the Team A.L.P.H.A. series, and couldn't wait for this spin off to come out. It was everything I hoped it would be! The individual storyline is sweet, sad, but still heartwarming. Character development is detailed, and sets up the rest of the series wonderfully. Each book has a HEA, but with the complexity of the characters, and their individual stories it's always an adventure!

I love Team Alpha books. When I read the short story at Christmas, I could not wait for the Alphabits Team books to start.Sam and Dean are an awsome couple. Add in all the new team members, and you've got another hit. If this first story is anything to go off of, this series will be just as wonderful as the one they spun off from. Congrats Susi!

I have embraced the moniker as a statement of who I am and not necessarily my emotional state. And, I have been called an 'angry little woman.' How could I not read this book?Women have been trained for centuries (maybe even millennia) to suppress anger and rage. Who is doing this to women? Mostly men, but other women as well. How many times, while growing up, were you told to be "ladylike?" The Women's March was a singular, worldwide, demonstration of female anger. It took this book to tell me that white, male, American journalists were belittling the effort the very next day. How did I miss that? I was one of those very angry women. I would have marched except for the fact that I had had knee replacement surgery just 23 days prior. My sister traveled to Washington, DC and came home saying it was a life-changing experience. Maybe I missed the denigration of the women who marched because I watched more AM Joy and The Rachel Maddow Show than I did those cable news programs hosted by white men. I was angry on November 9, 2016, angry and in shock. Now, in 2018. I am as angry, if not more so, than that awful day after the election.This book is not a page turner. It evokes anger at known injustices by their very telling. It is not only a contemporary work, it is up to the minute. However, it is not just a rehashing of current events, it delves into the history of the suppression of women. If you look at the labor movement, it was started by angry women. Did they get credit for this? No. Were the black women who worked tirelessly on behalf of the march on Washington, DC, the march where Martin Luther King, Jr. made his iconic speech, allowed to address the throng? No. Were they even allowed to march with the leadership? No.Think back to 2017, January 21st to be precise. News coverage of this event did not emphasize the way women (and men) of diverse backgrounds came together to change the world. Instead, the media put forth a story of behind the scenes divisiveness within the ranks. What better way to prevent needed change than to say that those seeking reform can't even get along with each other. It is this kind of division that has allowed one-third of this country to maintain power since the writing of the Constitution. The white male minority rules because that is the way our government was formed. White women enjoy a certain supremacy by proxy so they support white men against their own better interests. When a diverse group of women come together to discuss what must happen to create a more diverse leadership in government, from municipal all the way to the White House, and the result is white women remarking that their non-white sisters are finally starting to understand them, the whole point of diversity is lost.This book will push ALL your buttons, and that is EXACTLY why you need to read it. Those pushed feminist buttons will inevitably change the world. And to Rebecca Traister I extend a hearty, and heartfelt, thanks for acknowledging that I, as a woman, have every right to be angry, and have every right to express that anger.A 5-star scale does not do a book like this justice. On a scale of 1 to 10. this book is an 11! It is a must read for women to show them that their anger is not only justified but necessary. Use that anger to fuel the big changes needed. This is a must read for men who seem clueless, who want to promulgate the notion that women only have worth if they are producing children and cooking dinner. And, this is a book for men who are ingrained with the need to join feminists, to be feminists themselves, in the fight for absolute equality. Good and needed book that is literally helping support me and my rage as I watch the news. Timely that it was released during a week (this last week) where sexual assault survivors were mocked and ignored, old white men calling women protestors 'a mob' and (after they revealed their pain & rage) to 'grow up'. This book delves into women in politics in general, and the history of the public image of women's anger, specifically: the media portrayal, the way the anger is used to move progress, and the way divisions within women-led progressive movements are played up at the expense of the unity. This book helps provide a context for all the bizarre, seemingly unreal state of reality at present. It will also motivate you to vote, vote, vote. It also delves RIGHT AWAY into intersectionality, race and how it meshed or collided with the public face of feminism through history, at least recent history in the US. It absolutely gets into history with all the racist tea on early famous feminists, as a caution for new activists of today. But also it's about anger and women, and 'demeanor'. It is ok to be angry. Good things can come out of it. Totally worth a read and many discussions. I hope it leads to more activism and I believe it will.

As I read, I kept buying copies for friends - it's like a movement you want to urge others to join.The book left me breathless. I learned women's history I'd never known before, including the Declaration of Sentiments. I got insights into powerful and mostly unacknowledged forces that continue to subjugate women and people of color. I was even left with hope for the future. Comprehensively researched and beautifully written, Good and Mad is an important, inspirational, and highly readable book.Traister is also a terrific public speaker. She spoke in Los Angeles in conversation with Tracee Ellis Ross, where she pointed out that once you see how the world truly is, you can't unsee it. Good and Mad will make you good and mad. - and grateful Rebecca Traister is there to show the way.
