I stumbled across a Cathy Glass book that was listed with several other books by various authors. That was the beginning for me of wanting to read more -- so far I've read three and have purchased three more to come next .I am terribly impressed with the way Cathy is able to gain trust of these poor abused children and then slowly (at the child's own speed) make them feel safe, understood, and especially cared for. She works so patiently and helps them slowly open like a beautiful flower while giving them self confidence and helping them to realize that none of it was their fault that they were so badly treated. What an awesome gift to give to an abused child.To those readers that hesitate about reading this type of book because they can't deal with hearing of the things done to these children (I am one of those people), rest assured that it is not written that way. Stories are written around the event of being visited by Social Services and what transpires until they are able to move on from there to find their "forever family". I highly recommend her books but don't be surprised if you get "hooked" on them.

I just finished "Will you love me" last night and WOW! When you told her she got to stay I had tears dripping off my chin. ALL she ever wanted was a family and home she could call her own. I was so worried about the lack of food she was eating and was worried about organ shut down because of it, that did scare me a bit in the book. Lucy you are the luckiest lady in the whole world. You have the best Mom that one could ever ask for. I truly am sorry the system failed you so badly and took so long to get you to your for-ever Mom/Mum! Cathy I praise you from the bottom of my heart, coming from being adopted at 12 yrs old when my birth Mom/Mum was killed in a car crash. My Mom's best friend at the time adopted me but she was only 12 yrs older then me at 24 yrs old. I lost my dear Mom/Mum in 2008 and it still breaks my heart that I lost my 2nd Mom/Mum to early. I first found your book "damaged" this year when I got a kindle, and I have gone and read I think all the rest of your books. I have them on my kindle but I might have to order the whole collection for my book collection, so that I can share them with some of my friends who read. They of course have not heard of your books as I have never seen them in any stores, and I am always scanning ALL the books, so I would not have missed these! I do hope this is not the last story you have, (not meaning I want more kids to be hurt and go into care!) but I know that there are so many kids out there going through this. The wonderful story of how Lucy became your legal daughter was by far the most touching of all. I had just finished the book about Alice when I stated Lucy's book, so at the end of Lucy's book when you get Alice I figure I was already ahead! THANK YOU so MUCH, not just for your wonderful books, but most important to for being a foster Mom and a carer who really DOES care! Bless you and all the children who come through your home. I hope to see more updates of each of the kids on your website, and I look often to see if there are any updates, hoping in anticipation! I will have to say your editors have to be in tears the whole time they work on your books, bless them for helping you put out some awesome books! Sad but true!

Lucy's life started out very sad, the time she spent with her mother, all of the moving she had to do, social workers coming in and out of her life but not really helping. Finally, at the age of eleven, Lucy met Cathy Glass, and life started to get better. Lucy finally had stability in her life, and she finally had someone who truly cared for her. Cathy warns that Lucy's story is heartbreaking, and it is, but it is also inspiring. Cathy has touched so many lives, and helped so many children, but this story gives me hope that one day there won't be so many kids left thinking that life is hopeless. The world could use more people like Cathy Glass. I am touched each time I read one of her books. Captivating from beginning to end, "Will You Love Me?" is one of the best books I have ever read. I am very happy that Lucy found Cathy and her children. I am looking forward to reading more from Cathy Glass as soon as I can.

I appreciate what a mentor once termed "small volume" books. To earn five stars from me, the book must be concise and well written, and be a resource I will refer to again and again. Purple Squirrel is just that. Once delivered to my Kindle, I read the "small volume" twice in one evening. Author Michael B Junge writes with energy that motivates, and provides extremely applicable information designed to help you repackage yourself in a purple furry suit with a bushy tail. Many of us today would describe our skills and employment experience as "Welll....." An author who presents a resource that is "concise" and "well written" can help you present yourself as just what the prospective employer is looking for.

I am retired and love being retired. I do not want to go back to work. So why would I choose to read a book such as this one? Well, I like psychology and want to know what makes people tick. The author did an excellent job of telling his readers step by step how to write a resume, network to learn about job openings and to get recommendations, how to do your best in an interview, how to give notice at your old job, and how to transition to the new job. There were a few errors overlooked by the editor, but the content of the book was so good that I could not reduce my rating because of a few minor errors.

Very few get this detailed. However, it needs an update. Markets change and people have to change with them. I guess that's why people still call Executive Recruiters. We are needed as not everyone has the time to spend 20 years experiencing something that someone needs now. Great book - just need update !

It's ok but not too much ground breaking information here. Self help books are typically the same but this one wasn't a struggle to get through like most are.

You know when you come across an idea that you've intuitively known, but never quite articulated? There's that "A ha!" moment you have when the idea clicks. While reading Purple Squirrel I experienced a number of those. Some new ground was broken for me, but for the most part the experience of reading this book was more one of turning nebulous concepts that I already had absorbed into concrete, actionable forms.Purple Squirrel was an easy read, and it was absolutely worth my time. If you're looking for a job, trying to figure out what you want to do with your life, or are just trying to gather more information about how the job market works, Purple Squirrel will be a good read for you.

Tons of books on the market tout a "secret" that you don't know about job search, but you often find it's the same old stuff you've heard a million times. I was pleasantly surprised with Purple Squirrel. This book had a great balance of the basics with a good bit of detailed and helpful information...and it wasn't just about how to re-format your resume! It was a comprehensive look at how to approach the whole process. Kudos to Michael B. Junge.

It is good for someone in middle management in the business world, but not so much for in the scientific world or for just graduating with no experience. It relies heavily on one being able to show value to future employers by presenting projects that were completed in previous job situations and that you know the $ value of the impact on the company that you left.

Different approach to job seeking process. Instead of applying to hundred job offers, you represent yourself on the Web from professional point of view, and that makes employers contact you. After short time from starting reading this book and updating my LinkedIn profile I've got contacted by HR manager from some well-known company. And I even didn't look for a job.This book has a good set of advises. And it will take you little time to both read this book and improve job seeking process simultaneously. Of course, you'd need to posses needed skills and experience to find desired job, but this book will give you a possibility to look at the process differently, and with this improve it.

This book is an excellent companion book to the author's Ice Breakers! How To Get Any Prospect To Beg You For A Presentation. This book gives you several useful ways to establish a quick rapport with sales prospects. I can see how these methods would work equally well if you are in MLM or if you are in sales...recruiting or selling.Essentially, you are getting several quick "sentence starters" that will help you build agreement with your prospect, that you can build on in your main presentation. Certainly worth reading, even for experienced salespeople.And the author is a gifted writer. Every book of his I've read (I think I've read them all) are written in a breezy conversational style that makes it enjoyable. Never preachy. And the author gives you plenty of examples where you can use these methods in different kinds of selling.I certainly recommend the book, if you are in any kind of sales.

This was written by an MLM guy, for MLM people. I've yet to find a really good sales book from an MLM person. This book has some interesting insights but it's more geared towards platform selling (ie in a living room trying to recruit people the MLM). There are far better books on this subject. I highly recommend 'It's not about "ME"' - written by a former FBI agent. Great proven material.

Read this book quickly. Highlighted a lot. It contained a lot of good points and worth the price. I've read psychology marketing books quite a lot and this author just-so-happens to be in line with effective tips whether he knew it or not. Not the best book you'll ever read but it had enough gems that I felt it was worth buying. If you an aggressive reader to learn information to be competitive in business and sales, but this and read it. Then, move onto the next book!

So sleazy...used car sales techniques. If you sell like this, you're not doing the world any favors.

These methods of interacting create a natural response that directs the conversation in a positive effective direction, so you can gain interest from others. It's simply the right words, spoken in the most affective way, to give you the best results. I'm going to read it & refer back to it often.

Sometimes this is good, and sometimes very bad. Brett has recently suffered through being buried in an avalanche with both parents dying, having to move from his home in Los Angeles to his grandparent's mountain cabin, leaving behind all of his friends, his school, and his support system. This is enough to challenge any 13 year old kid, but when he becomes famously as the renegade, and makes new friends while irritating the teachers and principal at his new school on the first day, life and nightmares become e tanned. What is is kid to do except act and not over think.

MB has written had made an introduction to the professional sport of snow boarding. A young man who lived in snow country I'd taken after his parents ate killed. He survives and moves in with his grand parents. They are not the least bit interested. The young man enters the sport as a renegade. His skill shows he is not outclassed. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER

Would you believe in a hero who is a winter sports champ, a top vocalist and guitar player, who has recently lost both parents, who is sent to live with his weird grand parents and cousin in Aspen, Colorado?? Doesn't sound very interesting, but it is!

Cute, witty, entertaining, and more. This book had me laughing, especially the magic act. This is not a book I normally read but I enjoyed it. Great teen/preteen read. My only issue is that this kid is a bit too awesome to be real but could be considered great fantasy fodder for kids to put themselves in an awesome person's shoes.

Grandson loved. That's a surprise. Hard to find a book he will read. This hit the mark.

I had heard about this author through the grapevine and was looking forward to his books being published....I bought renegade based on the description, but was pleased as this book is funny and witty, silly and entertaining, an adventure. I like his style, it's unique !! I enjoyed it and am looking forward to his other works he will be cranking out !!

He sights studies and cases for numerous instances throughout the book.The book is also well laid out so the reader can access the information they need. Read all or select as wanted.I was looking for a book to help some of my clients that are truly thinkers understand their dogs. Not train but understand in a human to canine connection. How does canine understanding and comprehension differ from that of humans. This book has excellent information on understanding the how’s and why’s. I believe it will benefit my analytical clients.It is difficult to teach humans with all their empathy and intelligence how to understand instinct. How to welcome that inborn sense of their dog, to refine and develop it.By the way, NO not a training book. It isn’t supposed to be.

This is the second book by Stanley Coren that I have bought and read. The first book was "How to Speak Dog" which was a wonderful book on canine vocalizations, body language, etc. "How Dogs Think" is an excellent next step. The book almost has too much information about canine sensory perception and thought processes. It is an amazing look into the world of the canine which, unlike the human world which is interpreted largely through our eyes, is understood via exceptional scent and sound interpretating abilities. As such their brains work differently and respond to outside stimuli differently than humans. Fascinating book for those who are seriously interested in the subject matter. A serious book that provides real explanations to "How Dogs Think".

Comprehensive, remarkably researched, tightly edited. Everything I ever wondered about - including scientific data - about with my dogs delivered in a most enjoyable read. Logically starts with anatomy, their various senses and related information about their brains, behavior information, and on and on. Hard to put down.

I am continually amazed at the writing of Stanley Coren. No matter how many of his books I read, he never really repeats himself. He may address similar problems but you always seem to be presented with another way of looking at it at so expanding your own thinking. This is an amazing look at & insight into 'How Dogs Think', literally. No one seems to give quite the same angles to ponder As this man. Read him & you will be amazed at how your perceptions, understanding of dogs is challenged & enhanced by this man.

This is the best explanation of dog psychology that I have found. Itwas very interesting to learn why dogs do what they do. I did notrealize how much a small change in my behavior could make sucha change in my dog's reaction. My wife and I have had a lot offun exploring the different ways to get our dog to react and learnto new non-verbal commands.

Best book I've ever read on how dogs relate to their environment. I work in veterinary medicine and was familiar with some and impressed by the other scientific studies referenced in the book. One of my dogs is blind and this book helped me to understand what that means to her. The book has given me many new insights into my dogs' world and I highly recommend it to anyone that lives or works with dogs. I've bought several copies and have given them to our graduating small animal residents.

Topic is good, but author too technical proving his points, which I do not need to be proved to me. This makes for dry style. This is a personal critique, others may find it a good read.

Good book. I thought it was going to be a story, but it is more of a medical book. Still a good read and interesting book.
